ABOUT US
Who We Are
Celebrate Dyslexia began with a simple but powerful truth: dyslexia is not a deficiency – it’s a different way of thinking, seeing, and solving the everyday challenges that shape our lives. Founded in 2019, the organization was born from one parent’s determination to change the story for her child and for every family facing similar struggles. Despite decades of research, dyslexia remains under-identified and under-supported, leaving thousands of children without the interventions that change long-term outcomes.
Celebrate Dyslexia exists to close that gap – quickly, equitably, and at scale. What began as a local conversation has grown into a movement that celebrates the creativity, intelligence, and resilience of the one in five among us with dyslexia.
Today, Celebrate Dyslexia is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit uniting educators, healthcare professionals, communities, and families around a shared vision to reimagine what’s possible for dyslexic learners. We bridge the worlds of education, healthcare, and policy – a rare and powerful combination that ensures dyslexic individuals are supported not just in school, but across every system that touches their lives. From classroom conversations to statewide policy discussions, Celebrate Dyslexia advances this vision with hope, advocacy, and action.
Grounded in research, guided by lived experience, and driven by collaboration, Celebrate Dyslexia is transforming the landscape of literacy and learning in Texas while modeling what’s possible for communities across the country. What started as one parent’s voice has become a trusted partner to schools, nonprofits, medical providers, and state leaders committed to building a future where dyslexic learners thrive.
