SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Celebrate Dyslexia announced today that its Learning Center has earned Independent Course Approval from the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA), a significant milestone that expands access to nationally recognized dyslexia training for educators across Texas and beyond.
As the professional organization that establishes national standards for academic language therapy and evidence-based multisensory structured language education, ALTA credentials are recognized as a benchmark for excellence in dyslexia instruction. Through this approval, Celebrate Dyslexia can now provide approved coursework directly through partnerships with universities and school districts, creating a more accessible pathway for educators pursuing professional credentials.
Previously, many educators seeking ALTA-recognized training were required to complete coursework through outside providers. With Independent Course Approval, Celebrate Dyslexia can now work directly with higher education partners, including Trinity University, Texas A&M University–San Antonio, and The University of Texas at San Antonio, as well as school districts such as San Antonio ISD to deliver training locally.

The approval also strengthens the pathway for educators seeking to become Certified Academic Language Practitioners (CALPs) through ALTA. The CALP credential equips educators to deliver evidence-based, multisensory structured language instruction in classroom and small-group settings and is widely recognized for preparing teachers to better serve students with dyslexia and other struggling readers.

- Cost: $4,000 (includes all training materials)
The intensive, week-long program provides evidence-based, multisensory structured language instruction and serves as the first step toward earning the ALTA Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP) credential.
