San Antonio, TX – September 16, 2025
Celebrate Dyslexia invites the community to Destination Literacy, a transformative live podcast experience celebrating Dyslexia Awareness Month. Individual registration is now open for the event, which will take place on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Texas Public Radio’s Carlos & Malú Alvarez Theater.
The evening will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by the live program from 6:45–8:00 p.m., featuring leading voices in education, policy, and juvenile justice.
The event will include a keynote address from State Representative John Lujan, along with a distinguished panel discussion featuring:
- Jill Mata, Chief Probation Officer, Bexar County Juvenile Services
- Dr. Audrey Young, Member, Texas State Board of Education
- Dr. Mario Torres, Dean, College of Education and Human Development, UTSA
- Mary Yarus, Certified Academic Language Therapist
Destination Literacy will explore literacy, dyslexia awareness, and systems-level change through conversation and lived experience.
